Overseas buyers are returng to the Spainish property market no doubt confident that with prices touching their lowest levels in years that now is the time to buy, as demonstrated by the number of 6.363 resale (not new build) properties bought by non residents during the second quarter of this year. It might not sound much but it is an increase of 63,1% over the 3.901 transactions in the same period 2009. (Data from the Ministerio de Vivienda).
This also conincides with the general increase in property transactions. Between April and June the sale of properties increased by 24,7% with a total of 149.527 operations. The increase in transactions by non-residents was far greater too in the purchase of newly built property - with an increase of some 46% with a total of 8.765 new properties bought.
