The US billionaire investor Wilbur Ross was recently interviewed by CNBC and made some comments regarding the property situation in Spain, worth a listen and three minutes of your time. I especially love his comment of "walking down the streets of Madrid or Barcelona, and you don't see the beggars which would suggest that so many people are working in the grey economy". Also good to note that such big investors really do see that the property in the coastal resorts "is starting to mend".
